I really like this piece because you can see so much history just in this popular Korean dish. It is a combination of Korea's past and pain that my grandparents and parents tend not to share. Among my Korean-American friends, this dish is really popular because it is both easy to make and delicious. Until I saw this exhibit, I never realized how this dish is a symbol of the Korean War -- a mixing of what is American (ham) and what is Korean (kimchi).
